The “war” to restore our democracy isn’t over, but if our battles are won through visibility, then the awesome turnout for No Kings 3 on Saturday is well worth celebrating.
Running under two minutes, the video posted above is our (hastily edited) assembly of the diverse response to our call to share favorite photos and video clips of No Kings 3 events, contributed by Indivisibles all over the state.
Even this nice mix is only a partial representation, of course. The turnout in Portland’s Tom McCall Waterfront Park area alone was estimated at 30,000, one of over 100 demonstrations statewide out of some 3,100 events nationally, plus hundreds more reportedly on all seven continents.
At the national level, participation bumped up from an estimated 5-7 million for the previous No Kings day in October, to 8-9 million on Saturday (according to organizers). Not all locations saw bigger crowds this time, but many Oregon cities, such as Medford, witnessed their largest demonstrations ever.
