Video & Photos: Signs of Fascism in Reedsport

Indivisible Reedsport carried on the mission of waking the public up to the signs of fascism arising in the U.S. with the display of literal Signs of Fascism along US Route 101 near the heart of the coastal city, in their demonstration on March 7.

They carry on the tradition of displaying multiple simple and stark signs along a highway, in the style of the old-time Burma-Shave ads, each bearing witness to one of the many defining features of fascism we witness in our country today. (See our earlier write-up about the history of this trend.)

This kind of organized messaging works beyond catching eyes on the road.  Indivisible Reedsport leader Katie Vasquez  said the media of their event gave the group great visibility. “So far it has been viewed 363 times, forwarded multiple times, and has received no negative comments on Facebook. Also we started getting sign ups right after the event for our No Kings 3 event on March 28th.

“And a huge thank you to the other Indivisible groups who came to stand with us from Dunes City and Coos Bay! I think towns should keep using the ‘Signs of Fascism’ until the signs of fascism are gone!”
