In November, Oregon voters will choose a U.S. senator, six members of Congress, governor, labor commissioner, 15 state senators and 60 state representatives, plus local officials.
Democratic U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley and all six current U.S. Representatives from Oregon — Democrats Suzanne Bonamici, Janelle Bynum, Maxine Dexter, Val Hoyle and Andrea Salinas and Republican Cliff Bentz — are expected to seek reelection.
The emerging Republican challengers include Monique DeSpain in a rematch with Rep. Hoyle (4th District), and Deschutes County Commissioner Patti Adair vying for Rep. Bynum’s seat in Oregon’s 5th District. Oregon Capital Chronicle calls the latter the most competitive congressional race in the state.
Democratic Gov. Tina Kotek and Republican Christine Drazan are running for governor.
Half the Oregon Senate and all House seats are up, including several open or competitive races.
Oregon Capital Chronicle follows campaign announcements as they arise with a blog that summarizes the list to date, including links to separate articles about the subjects involved.
