Self-care is often portrayed as something we add to our lives: a new habit, a new routine, or something new to buy that promises to help us feel better.
But sometimes, the deepest form of care is much simpler. It is the practice of returning to ourselves.
Returning to our breath. Returning to our bodies. Returning to the people, places, and experiences that remind us who we are. It might be a walk outside, a nourishing meal shared slowly, a conversation with someone we love, or a few quiet moments before the day begins.
These moments may seem ordinary, but they are how we rebuild our connection with ourselves.
Care does not have to be complicated to be meaningful. Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is come home to ourselves.
Try this: Choose one small ritual this week that helps you feel grounded. Protect it like you would protect time with someone you love.
