We’re taking a different approach to Our Voices this week, with an ear to “voices” from Oregon groups already posted all across the state. While there are many ways to get our message out, from social media posts to meetings at the local café, here we focus on newsletters and blogs from our fellow Indivisibles.
Newsletters and blogs allow for optional commentary, format variety (such as sharing photos and video), creative works such as poetry and essays, and other ways to personalize our activity and involve our communities in a timely manner that is less static than the usual standalone website.
Most of our groups collect an email list somehow (we just tried to list all who specify a newsletter). Many groups maintain websites and/or social media pages that serve similar purposes for posting timely news and events without fully relying on email. In the future, we’ll probably assemble a list of events pages and calendars shared by our various Indivisibles of Oregon.
Share Your Experience!
Take a look at the great work your fellow groups do via the links on this list. Share your experience in the comment form below. Have newsletters been helpful for you, as an organizer or as one who shows up? What formats, apps, and other variations have you found most useful? What drawbacks have you encountered? Ask questions!
