Does your city have a NO ICE Resolution? If so, send us a copy as we are gathering them up to post on the COIN website.
If not, it’s not all that difficult to get the ball rolling. Here’s the resolution strategy that Indivisible Lincoln City used to get ‘er done:
- Planned to attend meeting in force to propose the resolution. Many speakers gave various arguments for the need for a resolution during public comments. Those who couldn’t attend submitted comments beforehand.
- Crafted and submitted a resolution for them to consider.
- Provided the mayor with examples from other coastal communities.
- Gathered a roster of people to write “letters to the editor,” two writers per week, making the public aware and persisting with the message that we need a resolution.
- Continued to pack City Council meetings, submitting comments, and speaking at council meetings until the resolution is passed.
