The Committee for the First Amendment hosted Rise Up, Sing Out: A Concert for the First Amendment with a national livestream June 14 to counter the gladiatorial display telecast from the White House that day.
Numerous stars (Bette Midler, Robert DeNiro, Patti Smith, and more) turned out to speak out for our democracy, and lead songs in which the audience was encouraged to join throughout the 2½-hour concert from Town Hall in New York City. The No Kings Coalition promoted watch parties among Indivisible groups (complete with song sheets for singalongs in real time) of which at least ten were registered in Oregon.
