ICE Out for Good: Rapid Response Phone Bank Jan. 21

In another call to action in response to the murder of Renee Good and so many other abuses of power, Indivisible has organized a virtual event to further combat ICE.

On Jan. 21 at 10 a.m. (Pacific), our senators will be inundated with phone calls demanding that congress defund ICE when current appropriations run out this month.

Sign up for this event on Mobilize.

For more information, the following is a copy of the call to action sent out via email:

Indivisibles,

You’re receiving this personal invite to our rapid response phonebank happening Wednesday, January 21 at 1pm ET/10am PT. We have the chance to put pressure on key senators to stop Trump’s unchecked power grab — will you help us?

What Happened?

Across the country, communities are living in fear as aggressive federal immigration enforcement tears families apart and puts innocent people at risk. From the use of chemical agents at protests to violent raids in our neighborhoods, ICE’s tactics have caused real harm and trauma, especially to the most vulnerable among us.

Why We Need You:

Right now, we have a critical opportunity to demand change. ICE and Border Patrol operate under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which is only funded through January 30. As Congress negotiates the next funding bill, we have the opportunity to push for meaningful restrictions and ensure that taxpayer dollars are not used to fuel abuse, intimidation, and violence.

That’s where you come in. On Wednesday, January 21, at 1pm ET/10am PT, we’re coming together to call voters in key states and urge them to contact their senators. These calls can make a real difference because senators need to hear that their constituents expect accountability, transparency, and humane policies.

Take a look at the target list:

We’re calling quite a few senators for this one, so we need as much help as possible. Here’s a list of the states we plan to target:

AZ – Kelly, Gallego
CA – Schiff, Padilla
CO – Bennet and Hickenlooper
CT – Blumenthal and Murphy
DE – Coons and Blunt Rochester
GA – Warnock, Ossoff
HI – Hirono and Schatz
IL – Durbin, Duckworth
MA – Markey and Warren
MD – Alsobrooks and Van Hollen
ME – King
MI – Peters and Slotkin
MN – Klobuchar
NH – Hassan and Shaheen
NJ – Booker and Kim
NM – Heinrich and Lujan
NV – Cortez Masto and Rosen
NY – Schumer, Gillibrand
OR – Merkley and Wyden
PA – Fetterman
RI – Reed, Whitehouse
VA – Kaine and Warner
VT – Welch and Sanders
WA – Murray, Cantwell
WI – Baldwin

Join us Wednesday, January 21, at 1pm ET/10am PT to call voters and ask them to demand that their senators hold this administration accountable.

Help Us Make Calls!

Anyone can join these phonebanks. If you need a refresher training, we’ll go over how to use Scale to Win, our dialer, and how to speak to constituents.

If you believe our communities deserve safety, dignity, and justice, join us! Your voice can help rein in ICE’s worst practices and protect lives.

If you have questions, you can email phonebanks@indivisible.org.

In solidarity,

Indivisible Team
