COINversations: On Election Protection, Sep. 15, 2026

Frank Stiefel of Common Cause and Misty O’Healy of Indivisible joined the COINversation Sep. 15. The topics focused on safe and secure elections for Oregon, best practices for voting and drop box monitoring, and discussion of the work of Common Cause.

As Common Cause describes itself on its website at CommonCause.org:

We work at every level of government on priorities that impact each of our livesโ€”like defending the right to vote, limiting big moneyโ€™s influence on our elections, holding public officials accountable, and more. Our efforts are driven by our national headquarters in D.C. and our more than 25 state offices, led by teams of on-the-ground specialists who know how to win impactful reforms that fortify our democracy.

When We the People come together, we can make a real and lasting difference. Taking action with Common Cause means joining a nationwide movement in pursuit of a democracy that gives all of us a voice in the decisions that shape our future…

Common Cause is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization dedicated to upholding the core values of American democracy. We work to create open, honest, and accountable government that serves the public interest; promote equal rights, opportunity, and representation for all; and empower all people to make their voices heard in the political process.

Frank shared (via QR code in the video) the link to Join the Common Cause Election Team.

Tim Bailey of COIN shared (via chat) the link for in-person Oregon Election Protection trainings, the link for online Election Monitor certification, and the link for Oregons Election Trusted Messenger certification at Oregon’s Election Trusted Messenger certification.
