NEW YEAR, NEW NEWSLETTER!

After months of research on email systems and on how people consume information, COIN is excited to announce a fresh start on our weekly newsletter. The COIN Chronicle will be making its debut December 30, 2025!

To receive this newer and easier to read newsletter, please open this link and enter your name and email. That's all the info we need or will ever ask for.

Why? Good question! We are using a secure new platform (Kit) for newsletter emails only. Our older system (Bonterra / Every Action) has served COIN well, but it is a larger database whose primary function is for fund raising and customer service management, and some aspects may be outdated. 

Our new system allows users to manage their data in compliance with regulations like the General Data Protection Regulation (with European requirements that are more rigorous than U.S. privacy standards). For example, not only does Kit make it easy to cancel subscriptions; it even removes inactive subscribers automatically.

ICE DETENTION FACILITY IN NEWPORT? THE EVIDENCE IS MOUNTING….

A century ago, AP Editor Walter Phillips coined the nicknames SCOTUS and POTUS as shorthand ways to break news via telegraph. Fast forward to 2024 when NOTUS (News of the United States), a newsroom unlike most, was launched to cover politics and government with fresh eyes and the expertise of veterans.

ICE HAS NO BUSINESS HERE!

Newport and the surrounding communities are taking a hard stand against allowing an ICE detention facility to be built in their backyard.

In a rally on Saturday, Dec. 13, Noon – 2:00 p.m., Indivisible Waves and various coastal Indivisible groups band together with two important messages: (1) No immigration detention facility to be built here, and (2) Businesses: we are watching! We support businesses who resist, and will boycott those that capitulate to this authoritarian regime.

The holidays are upon us. In addition to relentlessly staying aware of what is evolving politically, self-care is also at the top of COIN Leadership’s list! As such, we hope everyone is taking time to be with family and friends during this holiday season.
