Thank you everyone for hanging in with us as we persevered through a challenging meeting for the Zoom platform. With multiple crashes and reboots until 7:20 pm, we know a lot of people couldn't get back in. Apparently there was system-wide technical issues. Fortunately, our guest, Ellie Gluhosky from Oregon For All, continued with her presentation and the meeting was recorded.

Oregon for All, is a statewide coalition with 100+ member organizations across Oregon. Most members are immigrant justice or immigrant-serving groups, but many also work in climate justice and broader community-based organizing. The coalition is intentionally broad to ensure statewide reach across movements.

Oregon for All launched in February as an updated form of the earlier One Oregon coalition (formed in 2017), with steering committee organizations, including ACLU, Innovation Law Lab, Oregon Food Bank, SEIU, APANO, Oregon Just Transition Alliance, PCUN (their fiscal sponsor), Unite Oregon, and Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition (PIRC).

The key areas Oregon for All focuses on are community preparedness, training and mobilization, a regional lead network, guidance for reporting and filming ICE, family preparedness for immigrant households, and supporting families.

If you have a Republican representative, send them an email to demand full release of the Epstein Files. The House is readying a vote to obtain the FULL Epstein Files this Tuesday, and although it looks likely to pass, the threat of a Trump veto is real. To notch a veto-proof majority and max out our chance of uncovering the truth, we need mass defections by Republicans -- and that starts by turning the heat up.

If you have a Democratic senator, demand that they call for Chuck Schumer to step down as minority leader. Last week’s total surrender shows, once again, that Chuck Schumer is not the right leader for this moment. Senate Dems need bold new leadership to effectively fight the Trump regime, and that starts by convincing Schumer to step aside.

Sign up to call voters and get out the vote for Aftyn Behn -- a former Indivisible running to flip a red congressional seat! Our next chance to stomp the regime at the ballot box is in Tennessee, where Aftyn Behn can flip a district Trump won by double-digits if we turn enough voters out. You can call voters from anywhere. All you need is a phone and computer, and we offer live training before the shift!

When the City of Newport learned that ICE was considering putting a facility at the airport, the Newport City Council held an open public meeting. There were over 800 people in attendance to oppose the proposal and subsequently it was learned that the lease request had been withdrawn. Rep Gomberg shared on Rachel Maddow this week that there is continued interest in Newport, but now focusing on private property near the airport. We also learned from Ellie Gluhosky during the COIN meeting on Tuesday that the interest in locating an ICE Detention Center is continuing for somewhere on the Oregon Coast. 

There is no transparency so there is a possibility that every community is at risk for a potential location of a detention center. Not to mention the escalation of ICE activity, arrests, and confrontations towards observers of ICE activity.
