In Oregon we vote by mail! Everyone - remind your friends and family, to vote - no matter how "inconsequential" the items on the ballot may seem. Tip: dropping your ballot in a drop box is the best option considering the changes we are experiencing in mail sorting delays. Voting is a habit and it is our super power - VOTE!

Things are a little quiet here in Oregon this election, but there are high profile elections around the country - you can make a difference and join the many phone banks from the comfort of your home - make calls from now right up until election day!

On the Thursday, October 23 "What’s the Plan?" call, the story of  the lessons learned from the successful Disney/ABC/Kimmel campaign was shared. The bully bullied, institutions capitulated, people jumped into action, and next came the reversal! 

So here we go again. Just like Disney, Spotify is a multi-billion dollar corporation that relies on subscriptions. To get the ball rolling, Leah and Ezra sent a formal letter to Spotify requesting a meeting.

Now it is official from Indivisible "Until our demands are met, we will withhold our subscriptions and our support. We are calling on Spotify founder and current CEO Daniel Ek, as well as Gustav Söderström and Alex Norström who will become the new co-CEOs starting in January 2026, to:

Immediately terminate all ICE and DHS advertising contracts with Spotify.

Spotify must update its Advertising Policy to prohibit government propaganda and hate-based recruitment campaigns.

Spotify must commit to defending civil rights and standing up for communities under threat from authoritarian actions."

The interest in taking community action with non violent strategic defiance tactics is growing. Following the introduction of the One Million Rising campaign, the Courage Collectives were introduced to continue the campaign. Here are the three categories of strategic non-cooperation actions:

Protests: Rallies, Honk and Waves, and overpass banner events.

Building Alternatives: Mutual aid projects

Non Cooperative Tactics: Economic boycotts and bureaucrats refusal of illegal orders.

Mobilize is a volunteer and event platform and is becoming well known as an easy way for individuals looking for activities to find out what is happening in their area.

There are two ways for Indivisible groups to utilize Mobilize, with your own group account, or using the Indivisible General Local Indivisible account. 

The advantages of your own Mobilize account is that you can use any graphic for the promotion and you can easily edit and make changes. (Note: There have been a backlog of request for group Mobilize accounts and it may take awhile to get an account request processed.) Learn about Mobilize and register for an account here.

With the General Local Indivisible option, there is a generic graphic that cannot be changed but your event will be registered and will be viewable.

Peace Forum’s goal is to take this step and invite liberal, conservative and independent Oregonians who have questions but are afraid to ask, or who don’t know where to start. This event is invites veterans, seniors on social security, and persons of faith. The hope is that by understanding broader points of view, we may move toward uniting our community in peace.
