And the DOGNA goes to…

The first official DOGNA — Dose of Good News Award — which we officially just made up this morning — goes to Jess Craven of Chop Wood, Carry Water.

We encourage you to read the whole blog for dozens of good news items — or, at least positive turnabouts on the bad news we’ve been taking in. Here are just a few of our favorite items from “Extra! Extra!” posted May 24:

  • ICE Protesters Escape Prosecution: A U.S. District Judge dismissed all remaining federal charges against the last four protesters arrested outside the Broadview ICE facility during Trump’s Operation Midway Blitz. The defendants included Kat Abughazaleh, a former Democratic congressional candidate. The reason? Gross prosecutorial misconduct. [Chicago Sun-Times article]
  • Gen-Z Led Campaign Wins: Millville, New Jersey just blocked the largest proposed data center ever stopped in the state because young people, farmers, and residents refused to back down.  [The Cool Down article]
  • Congress Kind of Does Its Damn Job: The U.S. Senate advanced a war-powers resolution to end the Iran conflict unless Trump obtains congressional authorization, marking a rare rebuke 80 days after hostilities began. [Politico article]
  • The Court Kind of Does Its Damn Job: A judge ordered the White House to preserve officials’ text messages, to comply with the Presidential Records Act, which the administration previously claimed did not apply to them. [New York Times article]
  • Ukraine May Be Winning: Their “military has wrestled Russia’s much-larger army almost to a halt in recent months, having gained a tactical and technological edge.” [The Wall Street Journal article]
